Dreamscapes
In many ways, all of Kevin’s artworks are informed by his self-inquiry around what we see and how we interpret it, but in the artist’s debut and landmark first publicly displayed series of oil paintings created between 1970 - 1971, Kevin reveals his own humanity, interestingly and curiously, projecting it through the lens of the Cosmos and imagined non-human life forms. Five pieces from this series were awarded best-in-show honors from the “Up and Coming Artists Show(s)” from the Cincinnati Art Museum’s 1972 – 1975 annual shows. Kevin’s chosen color palettes for each artwork showcased in the Virtual Gallery add to the elegant yet weighty series of fluid motions observed in each piece, where Kevin hopes one or more of these motion-rich elements will be relatable to the viewer and their own dream visualizations.
